| The Experts in Residence program is designed to provide funding and to serve as a catalyst to initiate visits from a wide variety of experts. The visiting expert may work with the students in your classroom, spend a period of time in your building interacting with various groups of students, or meet with a larger group of students in an appropriate facility. The emphasis should always be on face to face interaction between the expert and the students. Visits should be curriculum related and focused on real issues. These suggestions are offered to enhance your chances of receiving approval for your requests: |
| |
|
| • |
Demonstrate in what ways the expert's visit will enrich your curriculum. |
| • |
Demonstrate that the project will reach as many students as realistically possible. |
| • |
Demonstrate that there are no other local resources available with which to conduct this learning experience. |
| • |
Demonstrate the benefit which the students will receive in career planning, skill development, or personal enrichment. |
| |
|
| Non-funded requests may be resubmitted at a later date. Chances for approval are enhanced by not duplicating a program which has already been funded during the current school year. |
| |
| After an expert has been selected to work with your students and you have the necessary preliminary information, you should complete the funding request form. Send the completed form to: |
