BARTLESVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Grades 9-10: Bartlesville Mid-High

Grades 11-12: Bartlesville High School

Foreign Language Dept.

2006-2007

SPECIAL NOTE:

Foreign Language courses are electives.  They are not required for all college admissions but are highly recommended.  Therefore, these courses are designed to meet the needs of those students enrolled in the college preparatory courses of study at Bartlesville Mid High and High School.   Entering 9th graders in the 2006-2007 school year will be required to take two years of foreign language or computer technology for graduation.  It is highly recommended that this language study begin in 9th grade.

The choice of which language to study is highly individualized.  Factors such as the student's interests, family heritage, and career choice need to be considered.  Because a long sequence of one language is preferred, 9th grade is the time to choose which one to study.

It is recommended that a student wishing to study two languages at the same time be enrolled in at least a level-two course in the first language before beginning a second.
