You can save time by starting to type in a name from the address book in a new message's TO: box and have Outlook guess at the name you want.
- Start typing in the first part of the name (if an address book is sorted by last names, start typing in the recipient's last name).
- Once enough of the name is typed in to distinguish the person from anyone else in the address book, hit TAB.
- The cursor will move down to the CC: box and Outlook will fill in the full name of the recipient in the TO: box. If there wasn't enough information to pick out a single name, however, what you originally typed will be unchanged and the message won't go through.
- Hit TAB again to move to the SUBJECT: box and fill that in, etc.
Another way to do this is to:
- Start typing in the name in the TO: box as described above.
- Click on the To: button and the name will autofill in IF you've entered enough information.
