menu
The Daily Bulletin could be used by the office to post daily events.  The date links in the center of the screen can be used to view a bulletin other than the current date.  Teachers cannot modify the bulletin, only read it.

Staff Directory
left nav
Here you can find a listing of your fellow school staff members. Each person's email address is a clickable link which will open a new email message formatted to that person.  At the bottom of the list you will notice a group email feature which allows you to copy and paste everyone's email address - this is handy if you need to send a building email although there may be limits on how many recipients a message can have.

Some email addresses may be missing. The Address Book in Outlook is probably more complete and up-to-date than the one in PowerTeacher.

How to Filter: Click a staff group link (e.g. All or Teachers or Staff) next to Listing Options at the top of the list. The list will change to show the selected group.

Personalize
left nav

The personalize menu contains the MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE... CHANGE PASSWORD.  Use a password that has both letters and numbers. Avoid using family member or pet names, since those can sometimes be found via internet searches. Anyone on the internet could alter your gradebook, etc. if you use a poor password or allow students to know what it is.

You may also change the default screen that comes up when you are browsing students in the backpack section. I like to keep mine on Quick Look-up, which I use to see if past absences were excused or not. Meeting Attendance is another option you could use for that.

Gradebook
left nav
This is where you access your online gradebook. Bartlesville Schools is using Pearson's new web-based Gradebook, not the older stand-alone PowerGrade application. The online gradebook can be manipulated from any computer on the internet, so be sure you pick a strong password on the Personalize menu.

Reports
left nav
The reports menu is where you would go to print a report for all your students at once.  You use a different approach if you instead want to print a report for only an individual student or want to print a report for only one class.

At this writing there is only an Attendance Audit Report. If you need a grade report, see Printing Individual Student Grade Reports for how to print one from your Gradebook.

How to Run Reports for All Students

The first drop down menu will contain all the reports which have been created for use in your school. The other settings allow you to print a watermark over the printout or delay your print job for another time.

Note: This field does not appear when running a report for an individual student.
