CLASSxp FAQ

Bartlesville teachers should direct their questions on CLASSxp to the district's Supervisor of Instruction Technology, Rhonda Layman, at laymanrl@bps-ok.org

Printing Seating Charts

Normally you would be able to print a seating chart by having it on the screen, opening the Class menu, selecting Print Report, and then Seating Chart. However, at the time of this printing in Bartlesville, that option was not working. So instead we must devise a workaround.

One method to print your chart is to copy an image of your computer screen to the clipboard, paste it into the Paint program that comes bundled with Windows, and print from the Paint program:

In this section you will be able to create and arrange your seating charts.

  1. Have CLASSxp open so that the seating chart you wish to print is visible.
  2. Press the Print Screen button on your keyboard (often found to the right of the F12 key at the top of the keyboard). This will copy the current screen image into your clipboard.
  3. Open the Microsoft Paint program. Usually you can locate it by pressing Start, opening the Programs or All Programs menu, opening the Accessories sub-menu, and selecting Paint from the list of programs.

  4. Starting the Paint Program

  5. With the Paint program active, open its Edit menu and select Paste. The image of your CLASSxp screen should appear.

  6. Windows 98 machines:
Open the File menu, select Print, and then set it to print Pages 1 to 1 as seen below. Click OK to print.

    Windows 98 Paint Setup

    Windows XP machines:
    1. In the Paint program, open the File menu and select Page Setup.
    2. Click the button for Fit to:, type in 1 page by 1 page, and click OK.
    3. Open the File menu again, and select Print, and then hit the Print button.

You can then hand-trim the printout if desired to only show the seating chart. If you are familiar with Paint you can also edit the screen image itself before printing. Or feel free to try pasting the screen image into a different graphics program.
