Twenty-Eight Weeks Into Construction

This photo was taken on August 16, 2002, about twenty-eight weeks after the groundbreaking ceremony for phase one. You are standing on top of the stadium press box, looking east across Shawnee Avenue at the floodplain area and then turning to the south to look out over the existing practice field. Phase One is completed. Visible just above the visitor stands is the new east parking lot, and to the right and above a row of trees you can see the green grass of the new football practice fields. Looking far right, or south, you see the Phase Two construction work for the new Fine Arts Center.
