The second phase of the project added onto opposite ends of the campus. A new science wing was built just north of the main building on a lawn, while a new fine arts center was built just south of the old field house on a student parking lot.

Phase Two Description:

Original Budgeting:
$2.5 million for science wing (11% of the project funding)
$8.2 million for fine arts center (35% of the project funding)
(Also, some phase three monies were brought forward for part of the lobby areas and some phase four monies were brought forward to pay for the new central plant)

Designed from May, 2001 to February, 2002; Bid in March, 2002;

Contract awarded on April 15, 2002 to TAO Inc. of Bixby, Oklahoma
for $11,024,681 for both structures; Groundbreaking May 20, 2002; Final Completion in September, 2004

The new science wing is attached to the north end of the main 1939 building. The 16,800 square foot wing houses two biology labs, two chemistry labs, a physics lab, and a physics/chemistry lab. Each lab is about 1600 square feet and has an adjoining office/stockroom. There is a room for student science projects on one floor and a central chemistry stockroom on another. Each floor has student restrooms, and there are some small faculty restrooms.

The new 68,131 square foot fine arts center is just south of the existing field house. It features a 1200-seat auditorium, dressing rooms, as well as fine arts instruction rooms. There are rooms for choir, band, drama, stagecraft, visual arts, orchestra, and an arts computer technology lab. The last three areas are in the West Wing, funded by a $1,000,000 donation from the Bartlesville Public School Foundation. The lobby of the fine arts center will eventually be shared with a new field house built just east of the center.

New Central Plant
The extensive additions to the campus necessitated a new central plant for climate control, etc. The plant shell with equipment for the fine arts wing was built in phase two, and additional equipment will be added to it as various phases are completed.

Crestview Property
Crestview Apts.This parcel, former site of the Crestview Apartments, was not part of the bond package; the property was purchased using regular district funds. The apartments were razed and the school board has voted to eventually consider this property for additional parking as funds become available.
