Central Middle School has a total staff of 84. There are 52 teachers with 33% having advanced degrees. There are 15 support personnel, 4 building maintenance people, 6 cafeteria people, and two counselors. The pupil to teacher ratio is 13.15/1.

A total of 677 students are enrolled at Central Middle School as of the year 2008-2009. The students who attend Central enter from four feeder schools: Richard Kane, Jane Phillips, Oak Park, and Wayside.
Students have seven forty-two minute periods. This seven period day consists of these core courses:English, Math, Reading, Science, and Social Studies. The additional hours allows students the opportunity for more exploratory courses in the Practical Arts, Fine Arts, Foreign Language, and hands-on use of computers. We endeavor to offer a broad diversity of exploratory experiences and provide opportunities to select from a variety of options consistent with their interests. We assist them to acquire information, to become reflective thinkers, to become able to express themselves and to possess a basic ability in mathematical reasoning.
Finally, we attempt to impart to our students the processes which are necessary in a participatory democracy; thus, facilitating their progression toward responsible membership in society.
