The mission of the Bartlesville Public Schools is to provide its students with all the tools necessary to be productive citizens and life-long learners. We believe the key is hiring and retaining dedicated, caring and competent teachers to make a positive difference for all students.
Working to achieve this mission, the district strives to provide all students with a variety of skills they will need to become successful in life. We strive to employ the highest quality teachers and administrators and provide a professional work environment that motivates teachers, administrators and students to develop to their fullest potential.
Bartlesville’s seven elementary schools (prekindergarten through the fifth-grade) and one early childhood center (prekindergarten through kindergarten) have an enrollment of approximately 2,900 students. Elementary schools operate on a nurturing, homeroom environment to provide individual support and attention for students. Music, art and physical education classes are provided in addition to regular classroom subjects.
Secondary schools consist of two middle schools (sixth through eighth grade), a mid-high school (ninth and 10th grades), and a senior high school (11th and 12 grades) with an enrollment of approximately 3,150 students. In addition to the core curriculum, the secondary program offers a variety of courses such as foreign language, art, music, speech and 21 advanced placement classes.
Specialists in the areas of learning disabilities, library, counseling, physical education and vocal and instrumental music serve on the staff at all schools. The district's Special Education program employs specialists to aid exceptional students with physical and mental handicaps. A team of gifted-talented consultants work directly with students and teachers to meet the needs of our gifted student population. |
