QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED and specialized vocational experience in or after high school in the field of secretarial and administrative procedures.  Two years in office administration and clerical skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, complex data bases and data entry on computers. 

Individual must possess manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer, typewriter, calculator and pencil.  Job requires knowledge of First Aide, CPR and exposure to blood borne pathogens.  Employee must be able to walk for 4 hours. 

Job requires occasional bending/stooping/squatting/crouching/kneeling, climbing, reaching above the shoulder and pushing/pulling.  Job requires occasional carrying/lifting up to 50 pounds.  Job requires employee to use both hands for repetitive actions involving simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation.  Employee must possess hearing and speaking abilities to monitor equipment and communicate with employees, students, and parents. 

The Board of Education and Superintendent may approve alternatives to the listed qualifications.

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Receives telephone calls and visitors.
  2. Assists with patron inquires regarding school information.
  3. Maintains accurate, up to date student records.
  4. Processes student enrollments and withdrawals.
  5. Maintains daily student attendance records.
  6. Calls parents to verify unreported absent students.
  7. Distributes U.S. and inter-school mail.
  8. Liaison between site and PTO.
  9. Helps with individual student needs (administering medicine, etc.).
  10. Performs other duties as assigned.
