Eligibility: Elementary student in the 4th or 5th
grade
95% or
higher on a grade-level standardized achievement test, aptitude test,
mental-ability test, approved state criterion-referenced test, or
125 or above on an IQ test.
Enrollment Fee: $ 35.00 enrollment fee payable with
registration
Enrollment deadline: Paper applications: postmarked by March 1, 2010

5th Grade
Science Fair
Student science fair projects will be a home
project that students are required to bring to GATE completed, ready to present
to their peers on February 22nd or 23rd during their
regular GATE class. GATE 5th Grade
Science Fair will be held at Wayside School on February 23rd from
5:00-6:00 p.m. Science Fair displays must be picked up by 6:00.

District Science Fair forms are available on the
GATE webpage. Participation in the District Science Fair is optional for all students.
4th
Grade Invention Fair
Student inventions and reports will be a home
project that students are required to bring to GATE completed, ready to present
to their peers on March 10th.
The GATE 4th Grade Invention Fair will be held at Wayside
School on March 11th. Stop by
and view the inventions between 3:30-7:00 p.m.
3rd
Grade will be starting their Renzulli projects for this
semester. This project will be completed
during GATE but some supplies may be needed from home.
2nd
Graders PowerPoint presentations are almost finished. They will be presenting their projects to the
class during January. Any parent wishing
to have a copy of their child’s PowerPoint may send a blank cd with the child’s
name on it or it can be sent by email if requested. We will be sending these though email by the
end of the month.
Also the 2nd graders need to be saving
recyclables for a Space Habitat. (Plastic
bottles, cereal boxes, misc. plastic containers, please no glass. You can start
sending these the last week of January in a large trash bag. Thanks!!!)
