2017 Homecoming Game

The Bartlesville Bruins played the Ponca City Wildcats on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the annual Homecoming Game for Bartlesville High School on Lyon Field at Custer Stadium. The event included recognition of National Merit students, new teachers, a halftime show by the Bruin Brigade, and the Homecoming Court, with Paige Sauer and Matt Russell crowned as Homecoming Queen & King. The final score was close, with the Bruins falling to the Wildcats 14 to 12.

New teachers to the district and their families were given free admission to the game by the athletics department, and the new teachers were recognized on Lyon Field before the game.

National Merit students were also recognized:
  • Semifinalists Sarah Covell, Hannah Linzy, Lukas Cochran, and Greta Olsen
  • Commended students Zach Woods, Markus Klawun, and James Martinez, who is also a National Hispanic Scholar
