4/9 Closure
THE SPECIAL FEEDING PROGRAM'S LAST DAY WAS 4/11/2018

Due to the teacher walkout, there will still be no classes in the Bartlesville Public Schools on Monday, April 9.

There will be a School Messenger notice on Monday evening about whether or not schools can re-open on Tuesday.

We want to be back in school and are promoting a plan to end the teacher walkout.

Supt. McCauley has invoked the existing authorization from the Board of Education to continue to suspend all classes in Bartlesville Public Schools on Monday, April 9.

WE ARE STILL LEADING THE WAY TO TRY TO END THIS WALKOUT
Bartlesville devised a plan which could end the walkout. The legislature enacted part of it on Friday, but the remainder is currently in the hands of the Governor. See our plan at TimeIsNowOK.com

ATHLETICS/ACTIVITIES DURING SUSPENSION

In keeping with other schools in our conference, varsity level athletics will play, but there will be no junior varsity or "junior high" events. Athletics teams and band, orchestra, and choir may use the facilities after 3:00 p.m. during the duration of the walkout.

SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS & PARENTS

The district deeply appreciates the widespread community support throughout the legislative crisis over school funding and the many community partners who have stepped forward to help students and parents during the closure.

Suspension Info

MISSED DAYS WILL NOW BEGIN TO BE ADDED ONTO THE END OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR IN LATE MAY
Because the suspension has lasted more than five days, missed days will no longer be treated as inclement weather days for students. Instead, school days will be tacked onto the end of the academic year in May to make up the lost time.
  • Students at Bartlesville High School will now have to return for school after Memorial Day on Tuesday, May 29. If a suspension extends beyond 4/9, additional days will be added that last week in May. Commencement ceremonies will still proceed as planned on Friday, May 25.
  • Students at the elementary and middle schools will now have school on Friday, May 25. If a suspension extends beyond 4/9, they will have school on Tuesday, May 29 and beyond as needed.
