The Bartlesville Public School District’s board of education will consider a recommendation to hire Cody Price as its new baseball coach at its regular meeting in June.

Price graduated from Marlow High School in 2004 and played baseball all four years. Their teams were state tournament quarter-finalists in 2003 and 2004. Price attended Mid America Christian University from 2004-2009 and was named an NCCAA All American player for pitching in 2005. He graduated in May 2009 with a Bachelors in Business Administration.

Price began his coaching career at Westmoore from 2009-2011 and then coached at Mustang for eight years. He was the pitching coach for the 2017 State Championship and went to the 2018 state quarterfinals. Price has had 30 athletes who went on to play college ball, with six of them signed to Division 1 scholarships. Two were drafted, two more will be drafted in June, and another will be drafted next year. One of his current players was the PBR Player of the Year last year and won the Ferguson Jenkins award this year. Another player is playing on Team USA and was selected to play for the MLB pipeline this summer.

Price and his wife, Courtney, have been married since 2009 and have three children Kennedy (7), Kylie (4), and Carter (11 months). Price is the son of Brad and Judy Price and grandson of Bill and Becky, all from Nowata.
