Several BHS Art Students earned top awards at the Oklahoma Indian Summer Student Art Show and Contest. The OIS Coordinator Lori Pannell said this was the largest group of student artwork and the most talent that they have seen in all the years that they’ve had the show. There were over 260 student entries.

Senior BHS Student Charlie Ramirez received Best in Show honors and was awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship at the festival Saturday evening.

Senior Courtney Brendal received an Excellence Award in painting and an Honorable Mention Award for her drawing of the Conoco Phillips Plaza Office Building.

Junior Mae Glock and Senior Olivia Lindsly received Excellence Awards for their Mixed Media Drawings and Sophomore Carmen Collier received an Excellence Award for her colored pencil drawing of an owl.

There were only two Excellence Awards given in each category. These students received ribbons and a monetary award.
