Borg & Sharifi are April Elks Students of the Month

Bartlesville High School seniors Anneke Borg and Omid Sharifi have been named Elks Students of the Month for April 2016.

Anneke Borg
Anneke Borg is the daughter of Amy Borg and Brad Borg.  She  is also a member of the Bartlesville varsity cheer team and has served as the team co-captain for the past two years. Anneke is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in the Bartlesville High School mixed honor choir and the jazz choir. In addition to her busy school schedule, she serves as a lifeguard and swim instructor at Phillips 66 Wellness Center and is active in the Young Disciples Youth Group at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Omid Sharifi
Omid Sharifi is the son of Hassan and Shala Sharifi.  He enjoys composing music and is a member of the Bartlesville High School Orchestra. His academic interests include history, philosophy, medicine and economics, while his sporting interests are fencing and martial arts.  He also assists with a self-defense class. Outside of school, Omid is a shareholder and waiter at the Midway Café.

Bartlesville Public Schools is proud to honor Anneke and Omid as the April 2016 Elk Students of the Month. Elks Students of the Month are chosen by a committee of Bartlesville High School teachers.  Students selected must be seniors, be of high moral character, have initiative, show leadership capabilities, be good students, and be active and interested in their school and community.  One female student and one male student are selected each month from October through May.
