On Thursday, September 10, 2015 Main Street Bartlesville will kick off the 2015 Bruins football season in style with the return of the downtown Tailgate Rally.

This event is a major pep rally supporting the Bartlesville Bruins. It highlights football players from the YMCA youth programs through high school varsity, along with the Bruin Brigade and cheer and pom squads for one big celebration to start the season. The tailgate rally will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the corner of Frank Phillips Boulevard and Johnstone Avenue.

“There is no better way to welcome the first home game of the football season than with a huge Main Street tailgate party,” event chair Laurie Cerda said. “It is a terrific event for the players, the schools, the parents and teachers to celebrate the start of the year.”

Main Street Bartlesville’s tailgate rally recognizes Bruin pride in the community in the backdrop of historic downtown Bartlesville. The event also provides an opportunity for boosters and clubs to make money for their organizations by setting up tailgates that feature various products for sale. Cerda notes around 1,800 people came to the inaugural downtown tailgate party in 2014.

The Main Street Bartlesville rally will introduce the varsity team to the community just before the first home game of the season in which Bartlesville will take on Cascia Hall at Custer Stadium at 7:00 p.m. on September 11. The BHS team will make their way through downtown, with the team captains being introduced on stage.

Tailgating booths and tables will be set up by local organizations and businesses which have the opportunity to support the Bruins and promote their community spirit all in one event. Vendors also will be
selling food.

The Painted Horse restaurant will be donating a portion of their sales from the evening to the Quarterback Club, and Hideaway Pizza will be donating a portion of their sales to the Band Boosters.

Come out, enjoy this fun evening and support the Bruins!
