We are happy to be celebrating Education Support Personnel Week during the second week of October this year. Governor Stitt issued a proclamation to that effect, and the district is celebrating over 400 valuable support employees who are crucial to daily operations.

Support employees include bus drivers and mechanics, cafeteria workers, secretaries, maintenance workers, classroom paraprofessionals, computer technicians, and more. Without these employees, many of the district's 6,000 students would be without transportation to and from school and would not receive nourishing food. Children's special needs would not be met, instructional and administrative technologies would not work, and the buildings would not be suitable learning or work environments.

The district's roughly 400 teachers and 20 administrators rely heavily on these dedicated fellow employees to keep the classrooms and sites equipped and operational. They are crucial to fulfilling the district's vision of educating and enriching lives, making that happen both inside and outside of the classroom. Teamwork makes the dream work.

Events at school sites include luncheons at various sites and other heartfelt recognition of their contributions.

The district also appreciates the employees of Sodexo, the YMCA, and Cole's Lawn Service who also work in and around the schools, keeping the schools clean and maintained, their grounds trimmed, and who provide after-school care for children.

The dedication of all of these employees is impressive, and their ranks include the folks who are usually the first to arrive and last to leave each day. Please let them know you appreciate their contributions.
