After receiving input from staff webinars, two community meetings, and the school board, the General Reopening Guidelines for Families were revised.

7/29/2020 UPDATE: Face coverings will now be part of the dress code for grades 4 and up per recommendations from the State Board of Education.

Reopening Guidelines

All parents are urged to review the updated guidelines, which include a link to the detailed plans & procedures manual, a living document that will continue to be fleshed out and revised both before and after the start of school on August 13, 2020.

Parents Must Enroll Students in Virtual Options by July 27

Parents who review the reopening plans and decide they want to enroll a child in a full-time or blended virtual schedule must contact the appropriate school principal by Monday, July 27. This is vital for us to adequately adjust our staffing before August 13 to support them.

Parents of elementary students new to the district should contact Dianne Martinez, while parents of middle and high school students new to the district should contact Dr. Matt Hancock.

All students are automatically enrolled in traditional in-person instruction unless a parent has received direct confirmation from the appropriate school principal that a full-time virtual or blended enrollment is approved. Simply filling out a form at is NOT confirmation of a virtual enrollment.

Parents are expected to commit to any virtual enrollments for at least the first quarter of the academic year. If a former BPSD student will now be home-schooled or is transferring out of the district, please also contact the appropriate school principal.
