Secondary transition camps this summer

Transition
The district's secondary schools will each offer transition camps this summer to help students entering middle school or high school.

Central's Cub Transition Camp

July 30-31

Cub Camp / Transition Camp is designed for incoming sixth-grade students to become familiar with Central Middle School before school actually starts. This will be an opportunity for students to explore the unique and exciting adventures that await them in middle school. Students will meet their new classmates and start building friendships and relationships with them. Students will also be able to meet with teachers and enter into mentor situations with upperclassmen.
 
Dates, Schedule, & Meals
Cub Camp is scheduled for July 30 - July 31. Free breakfast will be served daily at 8:30; free lunch will be served at 11:30. Our camp will start at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 3:00 p.m.
 
Registration
Registration forms should be returned to the Central Middle School office by July 26. Summer office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Transportation
Transportation will be provided. Bus pick up will be at centralized locations. Those locations will be determined and posted on Central's website at bpscentral.org and its Facebook page.
 
Cost
There is a registration fee of $10 to attend Cub Camp but scholarships are available for anyone who needs assistance.  A T-shirt is included for those who registered by May 31, and will be provided if possible for later registrations. 

Cash or check must accompany the registration form; checks should be made to “Central Middle School”.

Madison Mania Transition Camp

July 30-August 3

The Madison Mania transition camps are educational and fun! The week-long adventure is designed for students transitioning from primary school to middle school. They also are designed for students new to Bartlesville Public Schools.  Through collaborative activities and games, students will become familiar with their new school, the procedures and classmates.  The camp, a mix of academic and social skills instruction, are led by some of Madison’s finest and your child is sure to have a wonderful time.

Dates, Schedule, & Meals
Madison Mania is scheduled for July 30-August 3. Free breakfast will be served daily at 8:00-8:30 a.m., free lunch will be served from 12:30-1:00 p.m., and the camp activities are from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Registration
Registration opened on March 26 and will remain open until the maximum capacity of 150 students is reached. Registration forms must be turned into the main office at Madison Middle School.
Transportation
Transportation will be provided.  Bus pick up will be at centralized locations.  Those locations will be determined by May 31st and will be posted on the Madison website.

Cost
Students must pay a registration fee of $10 to attend. Each student will receive a T-shirt. Breakfast and lunch will be served daily. Madison Camp

High School Fundamentals

July 23-27

The Freshman Academy's High School Fundamentals course provides a foundation in skills for successful organization, communication, and general tools students will need to be successful in high school. They will engage in activities focused on the future (job applications, team-building, leadership, careers, etc.), health and wellness (eating habits, exercise, peer pressure, etc.), academia (learning styles, study and presentation skills, etc.), and field trips to RSU-Claremore and the Will Rogers Museum and Tri County Technology Center.

Dates, Schedule, & Meals
The Fundamentals course runs from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on July 23-27 and includes free breakfast and lunch served at BHS. The Freshman Academy is at the corner of 18th St. & Shawnee Ave. at the southeastern corner of the Bartlesville High School campus.

Registration
Bring the completed form, with $10 registration fee to Mr. Eliot Smith at the Freshman Academy.
Transportation
Transportation will be provided. Bus pick up will be at centralized locations. These locations will be determined by June 30 and posted on the BHS website.

Cost
The course is free of charge except for a $10 registration fee.
