Services for Rusty Ryan

Rusty Ryan passed away Saturday afternoon at the Journey Home hospice care facility. He was loved by so many, and we will all miss his ornery antics and cinnamon candy. We all agree the world was a better place because Rusty was in it. If you were fortunate enough to know Rusty you might wonder if he yelled “H-e-y Rusty” while walking through those Pearly Gates.

Rusty has been a part of the Bruin family for more than 30 years. He began in 1985 as a custodian at Wilson Elementary. He was the Classified Person of the Year in 2001. After a brief retirement, he returned as the district mail carrier where he was able to both serve and entertain the staff at every site. Rusty was known for his words of encouragement he would write on pieces of mail intended for the recipients. He was known for his hugs as well as a smile that brightened the world.

Funeral services for Ronald "Rusty" Dean Ryan, 84, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, at First Church of the Nazarene, 3650 SE Adams Blvd in Bartlesville.
