Stone Yang named Academic All-Stater

Bartlesville High School senior Stone Yang has been named an Academic All-Stater by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. He is among 100 top public high school seniors across Oklahoma.


Yang is the Senior Class President, President of the Interact Club, President of the Oklahoma Association of Student Councils District 6, a Class Representative of the National Honor Society, and serves on the Student Advisory Councils of both Bartlesville Superintendent Chuck McCauley as well as State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister. He has been 1st chair cello in all four years of orchestra and serves as the yearbook editor. He has also earned several science and engineering awards since 2017.


The 2020 Academic All-State Class is the 34th to be selected by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. Since the award program’s inception in 1987, the foundation has awarded more than $4.7 million in merit-based scholarships and awards.


Each of this year’s All-Staters will receive a $1,000 merit-based scholarship and a medallion. The All-Staters will be recognized at the foundation’s 34th annual Academic Awards Banquet on Saturday, May 16, at the Embassy Suites in Norman. The event will later be televised state-wide on OETA.
