The Bartlesville Public School District is currently accepting applications for substitute teaching positions. The daily pay rate has been increased by $10 for 2015-2016 to $60/day for a non-certified substitute and to $80/day for a certified substitute.

Should your application be selected, you will be required to visit the Education Service Center at 1100 S. Jennings to fill out paperwork.

Substitutes must have fingerprints and a background check done upon selection. If you have been employed as a full-time teacher at any Oklahoma school district in the last five years and have had fingerprints and a national background check done, you may bring a copy of that check, along with a letter from the school district stating that you left in good standing. This will override any other background check you need to do.

If you have completed the process to be a substitute in an Oklahoma school district in the preceding school year, you may provide a copy of that fingerprint background check.

If you have worked for the Bartlesville Public School District for the past 10 years as a teacher immediately prior to the school year, you are not required to have a background check.

The pay for a non-certified substitute is $60 per day and the pay for a certified substitute is $80 per day.

Certified teachers can sub an unlimited number of days during the school year. If you have a bachelor’s degree, but are not certified, you can sub a maximum of 100 days for a teacher. Those without a bachelor’s degree can substitute a maximum of 90 days for a teacher. There is no limit to how many days one can substitute for a teacher assistant.
