Summer School Teacher & Assistant Applications Being Taken

Certified and highly qualified teachers and highly qualified paraprofessionals are invited to apply to work in the Bartlesville Public Schools Summer School Program.

June Session


The June Session is 4 weeks, Monday through Friday; June 6-9; 13-16- 20-23 and 25-28. The hours are 8:30 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. Kindergarten through 2nd grade summer school will be at Hoover Elementary School, with Rene Burns as the director. 3rd through 5th grade summer school will be at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School, with Kelli Bryant as the director.

July Session


The July session is 3 weeks. Week one is Tuesday –Friday ; July 5-8; Weeks two and three are Monday through Friday; July 11-12 and July 18-21; the hours are 8:30-12:30. This session for Kindergarten through 5th grade will be at Jane Phillips Elementary School with Kelli Bryant as the director.


Qualifications


Summer school teachers do not have to be a district employee, but must be certified and highly qualified. Paraprofessionals need to also be highly qualified, either with 48 hours of college or they have to take the paraprofessional test. Contact the Human Resources office at the Education Service Center if you have questions about highly qualified status.

One-Day Training Session


There is a one day mandatory training session for June and July. The June training session is scheduled for June 1st from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; the July session training date still has to be determined.

Kindergarten through second grade summer school will be held at Hoover, with Rene Burns as the director and 3rd -5th grade will be held at Wilson Elementary with Kelli Bryant as the director. (I am not sure about the pay at this time.)
