At the district's Back-to-School rally on August 14, 2017 Rick Loyd, the Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Truity Credit Union, announced the organization is making a three-year commitment to donate $200,000 to district programs to benefit students, schools, parents, and teachers. His presentation was sent out via Facebook Live

Loyd highlighted a new #thankateacher hashtag program the organization is spearheading, and announced that Truity would be giving every teacher in the school district a $50 bill to spend as he or she sees fit. Truity’s Business Development Specialists Sara Freeman and Nicole McKinney joined Superintendent McCauley to hand out the 50 dollar bills to teachers during the back to school teacher meetings this week.

Kirby Woodward, a teacher at Jane Phillips Elementary, said she will use her 50 dollars to, “get a massage to start my school year off relaxed and in good health.”

Bruins Debit Card
To benefit students, the credit union has offered the Bruin Spirit Card since 2009, which has raised over $60,000 to date for student activities and athletics. Anyone with a Truity Credit Union checking account can sign up for the card and a portion of the processing fees on each transaction will go to the schools.

The organization also provides direct school support through donations to school Parent Support Groups, sponsoring various school events, and matching grants with the Bartlesville Public Schools Foundation.

For teachers, Truity sponsors recruitment and retention events, and classroom grants through the public school foundation. The district is truly grateful to Truity for being such a generous community partner, helping our schools as they weather continuing, long-term, state budget cuts.
