445 students have signed up for JA BizTown this school year. The program, offered through Junior Achievement, is a fully interactive simulated experience where students learn the fundamental relationships between academics and life beyond school. Students practice the rights and responsibilities of citizens as they become workers, consumers, entrepreneurs, and leaders in the JA Biztown community. This powerful learning experience is made possible through the generous donations of Accenture and Truity Credit Union.

The first group, from Wayside Elementary, was served on October 22. The next Bartlesville group, from Hoover Elementary, will participate on November 16, with future dates set for the Richard Kane, Jane Phillips, Ranch Heights, and Woodrow Wilson schools.

While the JA BizTown program is on track, Junior Achievement needs volunteers for the traditional program in which they visit a school as part of the Junior Achievement curriculum.

For the fall, the program needs volunteers to assist at:
  • Woodrow Wilson Elementary
    • Three 2nd grade classrooms
    • Four 3rd grade classrooms
    • Three 4th grade classrooms
  • Jane Phillips Elementary
    • Two 2nd grade classrooms
    • Three 3rd grade classrooms
    • One 4th grade classroom
