Two services used by many teachers and other staff in the Bartlesville Public Schools are scheduled to terminate in 2016 or 2017.

District Retains Edusoft Until June 2017

The Edusoft service used to scan and track student assessment data will eventually be replaced by a new service or upgraded version by its current owner, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. The district formed a committee in Fall 2015 that was actively exploring alternatives. In early 2016 a Houghton Mifflin representative told the committee that Edusoft's lifetime would be extended another school year. So the district will not be moving away from Edusoft until June 2017.

The district committee continues to examine various online assessment services, looking for ones with improved features over Edusoft.

Staff can continue to access district-specific help with Edusoft from the Staff Links or Technology Help pages on the district website.

My Big Campus Sunsets in June 2016

The My Big Campus service the district has received through its contract with Lightspeed, the district's internet filtering vendor, will be retired in June 2016. Staff members are urged to consider switching to the Google Apps for Education services which are now enabled for district staff and students. Teachers and students can create and share documents with Google Drive, teachers can share and manage classroom assignments with Google Classroom, etc.

Staff can access district-specific help with Google Apps from the Staff Links or Technology Help pages on the district website.

Some teachers already use the Edmodo service for sharing classroom assignments and appropriate communication with students. That option will remain available.

District Websites Migrating to Google Sites

The district website and some of its school's websites have already migrated to the Google Sites service. By summer 2016 all district website will need to make that transition. Granger Meador, the district's webmaster, is creating new websites for each school site using the Google Sites service, and the site webmasters will be trained on using that service and the new websites in the spring of 2016.

The same Google Sites website creation service is available to all district staff and students via their district-provided Google Apps for Education accounts.

Edusoft will continue to work until the 2017-2018 school year
