President’s Letter
Dear
BBOB Family,
It has been such a pleasure
getting to know so many of you this year. Your dedication, patience, and many
late hours of trash pick-up are to be commended. Thank you from the bottom of
my heart. What a terrific bunch of students and parents you have been to serve
together with in this organization.
I can hardly believe that
we are ready to close the chapter on this year. As some of you will retire your
years of service to band or orchestra projects/fundraisers/trips etc. after
this year, I hope you will continue to keep in touch. I’m sure there will be
much to report on this talented bunch.
It has been
a fulfilling year of watching our kids grow into their wings, but now it’s hard
to see some of those babies (aka young adults) leave the nest. Since it is
difficult to say goodbye to any of you—for now I will just say,
Auf
Wiedersehen or till we meet again,
Rhonda
Parnell, BBOB President
The next General Meeting of BBOB will be April 20th
at 7:00 pm at the Mid-High.
Plea for 2009-2010 Officers
BBOB is looking
for President, Vice-President, and Standing Committee Chairperson.
We thank those
who have stepped up or are continuing to serve as officers of this organization
for 2009-2010.

“For me one of the neatest
things about the trip was simply to see the looks on the faces of the students
and parents as they experienced some of these sights for the first time.” Mr.
Claussen reminisced. “I am so proud of
the students, parents and staff
for a great tour! I have said this to
many people; I have never had a first year with a group of students so positive
and so fun that I would trust them enough to take such a large trip. They
handled themselves well throughout the trip and put on great performances all
over

Community Support Letter
Watch for an email coming
soon with an attachment called “community support letter”. The letter is
designed for BBOB members to print off, copy, and mail to your
friends/family/co-workers. It offers an opportunity for an individual or
company to contribute a financial gift to our band/orchestra program.
As the High School Choral Department prepares to present their annual musical, many of our band and orchestra students will be rehearsing also to be the sound track for the play. Footloose was chosen for this year’s production to open April 30th and run through May 3rd.

Summer band/music camps
Summer
band/music camps are highly
encouraged for students. They provide an opportunity to continue to
develop skills over the summer months as well as expanding their circle of
friends with similar interests and goals. Start thinking about this
now. Mr. Claussen has recommendations and will discuss options for your
student.
Band Uniform Check In
Uniform check-in
for band students will be on Thursday, April 23 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
in the balcony area located at the Fine Arts Center at
the High school. If you do not turn in your uniform on this date, there will be
a $10.00 late fee. All uniform parts must be returned in good shape. If you do
not have all the parts or if they have been damaged, you will be asked to pay
for replacements or repairs at the time of check-in. Rain ponchos also need to
be turned in; if you have lost yours,
the replacement cost is $5.
Uniforms do not need to be
cleaned since you paid for the cleaning at the beginning of the year.
The above time and place for uniform turn-in is a requirement. Do not take your
uniform to the band directors or leave them in the band room.
I am asking for 8-10 parent volunteers to help with the check in. If you can
help, or if you have any questions, please contact me. Leave a message if
I am not home.

Ushers Needed
Can
you volunteer to be an usher? The Fine Arts center requires that when the
Band or Orchestra performs, that the group provide the Ushers to assist with
seating and pass out programs. Sign-up with Dena Divelbiss 333-9387 if you
would be interested in serving the 30-45 minutes before a performance.
