Art In Nature
Students studied the art of Andy Goldsworthy , Robert Smithson, and Christo and Jeanne-Claude. I then challenged students to make art outside during thier recess time. They could also play and think about what they were doing as art. I went outside and took photos of some of the pieces to document the art and the artistic process. The art they made was not meant to last. After looking at art by Andy Goldsworthy students understood the idea. Some of their work was very imaginative and had meaning for them.

"Rocks lined up on a Bar" was made by Bella and several other students. It was not easy to get the rocks to balance on the bar and the wind made it even more difficult. The art work is fun to look at and shows the variety in the pea gravel from the playground.
