Didgeridoos
All students in the 3rd grade classes made didgeridoos. A didgeridoo is a musical instrument from australia. Real didgeridoos are made form a log or tree branch which has been hollowed out by termites.

Kane students made their didgeridoos form PVC pipe. Mr. Graham gets a10 foot long pipe and cuts it into 3 pieces. Mr. Graham then heats the pipe and makes a bell on one end by stretching it over a gourd or bottle of the right shape. This must be done outside (not with students present) and while wearing a respirator because the fumes can be hazardous. The students decorate the didge with colored tape and permanent markers. Classes learn to play their didgeidoos also.

Below are some links you can follow to find out about the history of the didgeridoo and modern playing styles.
