Beth Cook was born and raised in
Pennsylvania. Her father still lives in the home where she grew up. She
has one younger brother who still lives close to her dad. Most
vacations are spent visiting family in the northeast.
Beth met and married Mr. Cook in
California in 1975. They spent several years traveling around the
country while Mr. Cook worked for a national restaurant chain. They
lived in Texas, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, South Carolina,
Georgia, and Delaware. Both Mr. and Mrs. Cook still love to travel
around our beautiful country. In 1980, they moved to Ada, OK, to open a restaurant and be near Mr.
Cook's relatives. Then in 1985, the Cooks moved to Tulsa, OK.
It was in Tulsa that Mrs. Cook
finished her Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education at the
University Center at Tulsa. She worked as a second grade teacher in
North Tulsa for 10 years. During those years, Mrs. Cook earned a Master
of Education degree in reading from Northeastern
State University. After that, she did graduate work at Oklahoma State University
in educational administration.
In 1998, Mrs. Cook was hired as the
principal at Kane Elementary School. It has been a pleasure for her to
associate with the excellent teachers, students, and parents at Kane.
Beth loves to read and to swim. During
summer vacation, she can be found at the pool with a good book!

Note From Mrs. Cook
We truly believe that Kane Elementary School is the best school in
town! We have a diverse population reflecting “real
world” demographics that prepares students to function socially
with those different from themselves. Our strong sense of
tradition allows us to share valuable learning experiences year after
year while building a sense of consistency and stability.
Kane Elementary 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders did an excellent job on
their state tests last spring! We have celebrated with our staff
and students. They all worked hard to achieve that success.
We are proud of their efforts and expect continued success in the
future.
Our improvement goals for the year include increasing our math and
reading achievement and raising our attendance to 96%. Remember every
day of school is important, but Mondays are especially important
because new concepts are often introduced then for the week. Also, try
to schedule your child's appointments before or after school or during
school vacations.
Students who are tardy are also a concern for us, because the day's
work begins right at 8:55 AM. Those who are late miss valuable
instruction.
Breakfast begins at 8:30. Students should not be at school before then,
unless they are enrolled in Extended Care. Our first bell rings at 8:45
and students may go to their rooms at that time. After 9 AM, students
will be marked tardy.
Please remember to be patient while dropping kids off and picking them
up. Drive carefully and slowly. The driveways are very congested, but
only for a short time. If you want to come in the building, please park
in one of the parking lots. Do not leave your vehicles unattended in
the driveways.
I am out of the office most of the day visiting classrooms and
monitoring student learning. I'm hard to catch, but if I can be of
assistance to you please call and set up an appointment to visit with
me.
