Parent Support Group (PSG) Meeting

March 2, 2007

MINUTES

President Paula Barnes called the meeting to order.   The meeting agenda is attached.

Treasurer’s Report

Dawn Jenkin was unable to attend, but provided copies of the report for review.  See attached report. 

Committee Reports

Bake Sale:  Tamara Harris reported that the next sale is scheduled on March 16, 2007.

Bruin Bash:  Jody Mueller reported the Bruin Bash will be held on May 4 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m.  She met with committee members from Central.  The committee is planning a cruise theme (Cruisin’ to Mid-High) and will solicit the help of the Student Councils from both schools.  Central received the grant from ConocoPhillips.  This event is open to any local 8th grader.

Directory:  No report.

New Business

Nominations for 2007- 2008 Officers and Committees:  To fill the many positions that will be open next year those present discussed parents with children coming from the elementary schools.  Lexie is planning to visit the three elementary schools that feed Madison to invite them to the April meeting. 

Eighth Grade Farewell Trip to Incredible Pizza: Paula Barnes reported the cost per child for buffet only ($6.00) or buffet with $5.00 game card ($10.00) and that the date was reserved. A motion to provide each child with the $10.00 option passed and Paula will send the $150.00 deposit by the 15th of March.

4 for 4 Award:  A motion to reward students achieving satisfactory or above on all four sections of the CRT tests with a $10.00 gift card to Washington Park Mall passed.

Academic Award Assembly – April19th: Mrs. Radebaugh asked the PSG to provide cookies and drinks for a reception at this assembly. 

Microwave Ovens for the Lunchroom – A motion to provide up to $250 toward microwave ovens and carts for the lunchroom passed.

Principal’s Report

Joey Eidson presented an update on the playground project.  The four tetherball posts now have gravel around them.  The soccer goals are in place. He is making benches and continues to use the money allotted wisely and the students are enjoying these additions.  He thanked the PSG for their contribution to the project.
