Back on Track has been designed as an alternative to
out-of-school suspension. If a student commits an offense that in the
past would have resulted in five days suspension, then that student
spends 10 days in the Back on Track program.
The benefit to school, community, parents, and student is that the
student will remain in school receiving instruction from a certified
teacher, rather than at home trying to keep pace by themselves.
This program will not completely do away with the need for suspension;
however, it will dramatically reduce the number of students off campus
while maintaining a learning environment for others. |
