| BHS senior Potter earns coveted role on OU Spirit Squad | |
|
Bartlesville High School senior Chelsea Potter has earned a spot on the University of Oklahoma cheerleading squad for the 2008-09 academic year. Potter was recently informed of her achievement after surviving two elimination rounds for a coveted spot on the OU Spirit Squad. Competition, which began last winter in Norman, was fierce and by invitation only. Potter was one of 100 potential OU cheerleaders who were called back earlier this month for a tryout for one of the 40 spots on the team. She competed in tumbling, stunting and cheer/dance routines. Potter is believed to be the first Bartlesville-area student to make the OU Spirit Squad in more than 30 years. She has lettered in varsity cheerleading at BHS since she was a freshman, earning co-captain status each of her four years on the Bruin squad. |
