Goody's makes great grant check presentation at Wilson

 

Woodrow Wilson Elementary held a special assembly on May 2 as officials from Goody's Family Clothing presented a $10,000 grant check to the school as part of the company's Good Deeds for Schools program. Wilson won one of 50 of the Goody's Good Deeds for Schools program grants which were awarded throughout the country. The school was the lone winner from the state of Oklahoma. Pictured as part of the check presentation are (from left) Wilson art teacher Kanda Hill, Goody's-Bartlesville store manager Jeremy Botonis, Goody's District 33 manager Mike McKee, Wilson fourth-grade teacher Vanessa Wallace, Wilson principal Sandra Kent, Wilson fourth-grade teacher Chapel Zellers, Wilson third-grade teacher Angela Holcomb, Wilson councilor Karen Salge, Maisema Land & Waterscapes owner Justin Marshall, Wilson second-grade teacher Laurie Marshall, Wilson kindergarten teacher Julie Silva and Wilson fourth-grade teacher Shelly White. Also on hand were Bartlesville mayor Tom Gorman, Bartlesville city council member Victory Holcomb, Bartlesville city manager Ed Gordon, Bartlesville Public School District superintendent Dr. Gary W. Quinn, and BPSD executive director of elementary education Dianne Martinez. Wilson officials plan to put the money toward the transformation of the school's courtyard into a Multiple Intelligence Garden.
