Central Middle School students in Julie Hall's social studies class had the opportunity to learn a bit about pioneering life by taking part in an “Oregon Trail” project on April 28. Students go to shop in a store for supplies, load them up, pick an ox and then head out west toward Oregon. Along the way, they had to search for water, fire wood and food and battle other hardships. “The students had a blast,” said Hall, “and hopefully will have a better idea of what the pioneers went through.”
