BHS seniors Moore and Rivera named Rotary Students of Month for September

Bartlesville High School seniors Kelsey Moore and Alex Rivera have been selected as the Rotary Students of the Month for September.

Kelsey is the daughter of Jane and Marty Moore. She is a member of the BHS Student Council and recently attended the National Student Council Convention. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is a National Merit “high scorer” as well. A Youth Leadership Bartlesville Class I alum, she is a member of the group's steering committee.

Kelsey is a member of the 66 Federal Credit Union Youth Board and is a six-year member of both Bruin orchestra program and the Elite soccer team. She enjoys volunteer projects and has helped the Mary Martha Outreach with its supply drive.

Kelsey coaches gymnastics at the ConocoPhillips Gymnastics Center and works part time at the front desk of the Bartlesville Chamber of Commerce office.

Alex is the son of Jairo and Rosario Rivera. He the student body secretary of the BHS Student Council and is the president of the National Honor Society. He is the president of the BHS choir and is the co-librarian for the Bartlesville Choral Society.

A member of the BHS Spanish Club, Alex plays keyboards at the Highland Park Baptist Church. He takes piano and vocal lessons from Ruthie Carrico and is a Children's Musical Theatre alum. Alex enjoys reading.

The Rotary students of the month – both seniors and juniors are eligible – are chosen by a committee of BHS teachers. The students should be of high moral character, have initiative, show leadership capabilities, be good students, and be active and interested in their school and community. One boy and one girl are selected each month from September through May.
