Materials:

• one student worksheet
• a divided tray
• litmus paper
• ammonia
• lemon juice
• washing soda (sodium carbonate)
• water
• white vinegar

Safety Concerns:
Ammonia can cause nosebleeds and eye irritation. It should never be mixed with bleach - this creates a toxic nerve gas.
