Students will use their powers of observation and reasoning to conclude that there is a need for recycling.
At the beginning of the school year students will collect trash, i.e., gum wrappers, Styrofoam, etc., and bury the "trash" and at the end of the year dig up the trash and observe the condition of these items, then discuss the need for recycling and conservation.
