Purpose: Students will demonstrate how a fuse and an electrical bypass work in an electrical circuit.
Summary: Students will create a fuse, blow the fuse, and record what happens. Then students will create an electrical bypass, experiment with the alternative routes, and record the results.

Materials:
- one student worksheet
- one battery in a battery clip (a second may be needed for extra juice)
- two alligator clips or 2 12" pieces of copper wire (20-22 gauge)
- one bulb with a socket
- one strand of Christmas tree tinsel
- one pad of extra fine steel wool
- one pair of tweezers
- one clothespin half
- tape
- aluminum foil
- paperclips
