Objectives:

  1. Living organisms have physical and/or behavioral responses to external stimuli (e.g., hibernation, migration, plant growth, etc.)
    Local extension: Basic ways in which plants grow in response to their environment are described with references to tropisms.

Time Range:
3rd Quarter

Suggested Teaching Strategies:

  • Phototropism and geotropism demonstrations.
  • Define and list the structures of the human organ systems involved in sense (touch, sight, hearing, taste, smell).
  • List different strategies used by animals in responding to the environment.
