1. Cells are composed of a variety of structures such as the nucleus, cell membrane, cell wall, cytoplasm, ribosomes, mitochondria, and chloroplasts.

Time Range:
1st Quarter; 23 days for Strand 1

Suggested Teaching Strategies:

• Outline structures within the cell - each organelle having specific functions.
• Observe and draw the cell, color & label each part.
• Use cellular worksheets and activities for both Plant and Animal Cells.
