PASS Strand: 6. The Behavior of Organisms
Objectives:
- Responses to external stimuli can result from interactions with the organism's own species and others, as well as environmental changes; these responses either can be innate or learned. Broad patterns of behavior exhibited by animals have changed over time to ensure reproductive success.
Time Range: 4th Quarter; 20 days for Strand 6
Suggested Teaching Strategies:
- Explain survival of the fittest (Natural Selection)
- Large numbers of offspring and reproductive cells
- R & K reproductive processes
- Internal verses external fertilization
- Population dispersal patterns
- Territorial displays
