Purpose: To provide the student with the opportunity to review the parts of a microscope and proper handling of a compound light microscope. Students will also learn a brief history of the microscope and the scientists who helped develop it. In addition, the students will be making slides to review wet mount and simple slide staining techniques.
Summary: Microscopic examinations of prepared slides and the making of wet mount slides. Students will then use the information they gain to answer questions.
