Purpose: To correctly collect, preserve, mount and identify 15 different insects from 10 different orders. To observe the extent of structural variation in insects.
Summary: Students will learn different collecting and preserving techniques. They will observe structural differences between various insect orders. They will use observable physical characteristics of insects and will work with a dichotomous key to develop classification skills.
