Interactions of Energy & Matter
Energy, such as potential, kinetic, and field, interacts with matter and is transferred during these interactions.

Objectives:

  1. One of the major forms of energy is thermal energy, which can be transferred in three different ways. Heat transfer can be calculated mathematically.

Time Range:
4th quarter; 1.5 weeks

Suggested Teaching Strategies:
CPO Chapter 25

  • Students will define related vocabulary terms; use pre-reading guides to introduce them to the text; and fill in guided outline during class discussion.
  • Students learn through conducting a series of labs (see below).
  • Reinforce student understanding using worksheets and activities.
