Previous Core Lab

Concepts:
Magnetic fields can be used to generate electric current.

Summary:
Students examine how a magnet can be pushed into a coil of wire to create electrical current. They explore possible controlling factors of insertion rate and depth, polarity, field strength, and relative motion of coil and magnet.
