Camping with family and friends fills the summer weeks for this veteran fifth grade teacher.  A 2001 graduate of the University of Tulsa, Gennifer Dobbs, enjoys spending her weekdays with the staff and children at Wilson Elementary.  Over her seven year tenure with BPS, Dobbs has taught both fifth and third grades and was named the 2004-2005 Oak Park Teacher of the Year. The youngest of four children, this weekend traveler, knows the importance of a supportive family.  “I want to create a family environment for my classroom.  I look back on my childhood and know that without the encouragement of my parents and other Godly adults in my life, I would not be the person I am today.  I look forward to this year full of changes with great anticipation and high hopes.”

I’m Brenda Shanklin, I grew up in the small rural community of Oglesby just south of Bartlesville.   I attended Caney Valley High School and earned a degree in elementary education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.  I’m blessed with two daughters Lindsey and Taylor.  My husband Sherm is a realtor and the owner of ReMax of Green Country.  This is my 24^th year of teaching and my 16 year at Wilson.
