I am Darlys Lickliter. I graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State
University in 1991. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education
and a Master’s Degree in Piano Performance.
I have had the privilege of teaching music for 17 years……all of
those years at Wilson Elementary. I was Wilson Teacher of the Year
in 1994.
As a music teacher, I believe in giving students varied experiences
and opportunities to grow musically. Music has the power to engage
students in educational experiences that might well be life
changing, allowing them to discover new things about
themselves….possibly a hidden talent or a love for music. I try to
instill in the students an appreciation for music and the arts in
general. Music can be a means of expression and may well lead to
greater achievement.
I have a wonderful husband and 2 children….Shaun, who is almost
3 ½ and Nicole, who is almost 2.
