At its regular meeting on February 20, the Bartlesville Board of Education appointed Jason Sauer to fill Kevin Sitton’s seat for District 4, which covers the northeast portion of Bartlesville. Per Board policy, Sauer will stand for election for the seat in 2024 because his appointment came during the first half of Sitton’s term.

Sauer and his wife, Kori, have a son who attends Madison Middle School. Sauer is currently a regional manager for AgriSompo North America, and has previously worked with ProAg crop insurance, Rural Community Insurance Services, and as President of Tractor Depot. Sauer also served for six years in the US Army after which he received an honorable discharge in 2003.

Regarding his interest in serving on the board, Sauer believes that a strong school system is a foundation pillar to the growth and vitality of the community.

The board accepted Mr. Sitton’s resignation at its regular meeting in January due to his job-related relocation out of state. Sitton stated, “It has been a pleasure working with and getting to know [my peers] during my tenure on the Board. I treasure the friendships and experience that I gained while serving.”
